meet the artist...
artist statement
the use of vibrant colors, random display of scratches, layers of paint peering through provide a depth of a space incomprehensible, but challenging to the mind's eye. there is a randomness in the process of creating visual stimuli and i focus on working in a fashion that transforms a single moment into a time captured for all to see...not in the physical sense of our world, rather the unseen or what most do not commonly observe. when creating a surface and space that does not hold common visual images, i ask the viewer to break chains of associations to physical subject matter and create new ones and to look through the piece. when working i feel that i am creating space, a simple taste of the infinite where time is gently installed into a stillness of material - colors, texture of paint, layered upon layered masses of media...and knowing that each brushstroke is evident of knowledge, evident of truth unseen, and evident of human emotion that is silently felt. i am interested in the process of experimenting, finding the new in the old knowledge, and challenging the process and the constraints of reason. in my work i have found that there is evolution in process, a process in life, and a life in change hints of all evolution. by continually working on my process in my artwork, i am showing a representation of change and growth that happens within my life, transforming learned experiences and thoughts to freedom of expression and a reaction to our world. my process, which is evident in my work, shows the interpretations of reflections that are acted out onto a surface.

about the artist
i think that life is art and art is a way of living. i love to paint, design, draw, mold, photograph - all of it. it always finds a way to come out...and i allow it because it must. the intense energy to create is a part of my everyday and i embrace every second of it. i'm all about encouraging everyone to let it out and just be yourself. definitely invigorating.
